Physical examination

+

  • Height, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI)

  • Body Fat Percentage

  • Waist and hip circumference

  • Visual acuity and color vision

  • Blood pressure measurement

High BMI, body fat percentage, and blood pressure increase the risk of developing chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and certain types of cancer.

Full blood count

+

  • Haemoglobin

  • Total red blood cell

  • Haematocrit

  • MCV, MCH, MCHC

  • Total white blood count

  • Differential count

  • Platelets

  • Peripheral blood film

Hematology (blood) test evaluates your levels of various types of blood cells. High or low levels of particular types of cells may indicate disease, such as bone marrow disorders and cancers, as well as nutritional deficiencies.

Diabetes profile

+

  • HbA1c

HbA1c test checks your average blood glucose over the past three months or so and can detect prediabetes and diabetes.

Kidney profile

+

  • Urea, creatinine, eGFR

  • Sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate

  • Urine FEME

  • Urine microalbumin/ creatinine ratio

eGFR/Urea/Creatinine measures the levels of two different waste products that are normally filtered by the kidneys, and calculates the kidney function and how well the kidneys are filtering blood.

Sodium/Potassium/Bicarbonate/Chloride are indicators if your kidneys aren’t functioning normally.

The urine FEME test looks for signs of blood, infection, or other abnormalities that indicate impaired kidney function.

The urine microalbumin/ creatinine ratio test checks for protein leakage from the kidney, and can allow your doctor to detect early signs of kidney damage.

Bone and joint profile

+

  • Calcium

  • Uric acid

  • Phosphate

Calcium and phosphate are important components of bone tissue, and normal levels are important for maintaining healthy bones.

Uric acid results from the breakdown of proteins in the body, and elevated levels can increase the risk of gout and kidney stones.

Lipid/coronary risk profile

+

  • Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL cholesterol

  • Triglycerides

  • Chol/HDL ratio

  • Hs C-Reactive protein (hsCRP)

Your levels of various types of cholesterol as well as triglycerides show your risk for having a heart attack or stroke.

Hs C-Reactive protein (hsCRP) is a measure of chronic inflammation in the body. These levels are correlated with risk of major events like heart attack and stroke, but can also be raised by other inflammatory processes and infections.

Liver profile

+

  • Total protein

  • Albumin, globulin, total bilirubin

  • Alkaline phosphatase, SGOT (AST), SGPT (ALT), GGT

These test measure the levels of certain enzymes that are released when the liver is damaged. Higher levels may indicate liver disease such as fatty liver, alcoholic liver disease and liver infection.

Hepatitis profile

+

  • Hepatitis Bs antigen, hepatitis Bs antibody

  • Hepatitis A antibody

Hepatitis A and B are caused by viruses, and can cause serious damage to the liver, including liver cancer. This test will show whether you’re immune to these viruses, so you can be vaccinated if necessary.

Thyroid profile

+

  • FT4

  • TSH

The thyroid gland controls energy use and metabolism throughout the body. If this gland isn’t functioning normally, you may experience a variety of symptoms, including changes in body weight, hunger and energy levels.

Vitamin D

+

  • Vitamin D

This vitamin is necessary for good bone health, and healthy functioning of the metabolic systems. Deficiency is common, and testing will show if you may need to take supplements to achieve healthy vitamin D levels.

Cancer markers

+

  • CA125 (Ovaries) or PSA (Prostate)

  • CA19.9 (Pancreas)

  • AFP (Liver)

  • CEA (Colon)

  • EBV-EA-EBNA-1 (Nose)

  • Stool occult blood

Increases in the levels of certain proteins in the blood can indicate particular types of tumours. Abnormal levels of these proteins indicate the need for further evaluation to check for cancer.

The stool occult blood test looks for signs of microscopic bleeding in your digestive tract, which could indicate cancer or other benign conditions.

Cancer markers test is only available on NOVI Assessment Plus.

Add on Tests

These tests are available as add-ons to your NOVI Assessment package. During your pre-screening consultation, our doctor can help to advice if any of these tests are suitable for you.

Imaging

+

Ultrasound abdomen

This test uses sound waves to examine the liver, kidney, gallbladder, spleen and pancreas. Detects common conditions such as fatty liver and kidney stones.

Bone mineral density scan (DEXA)

Measures bone density and detects osteoporsis. Low bone mineral density leads to an increased risk for bone fractures, and becomes increasingly common as people get older.

Ultrasound pelvis (for women)

This test uses sound waves to check for abnormalities in the organs of the pelvis, including ovaries, uterus and connecting structures to detect fibroids, cysts or other masses.

Mammogram and ultrasound breast (for women)

These tests check for breast cancer. A mammogram uses X-rays and is gold standard, while an ultrasound uses sound waves and is indicated for younger women with dense breast tissue.

Ultrasound prostate

This test uses sound waves to check for abnormalities in the prostate gland, such as masses that could indicate cancer or general enlargement.

Price

1 imaging test $250

2 imaging tests $500

3 imaging tests $600

Women’s wellness

+

Women’s wellness package for women below 30 - $360

  1. Consult with O&G specialist.

  2. Pelvic ultrasound.

This test uses sound waves to check for abnormalities in the organs of the pelvis, such as fibroids or masses on the ovaries.

  3. Pap smear (Thin-Prep)

For this test, a sample of cells is gently scraped from the surface of the cervix, and then examined in a laboratory for abnormalities. Abnormal cells could lead to cervical cancer, and appropriate treatment can prevent this.

Women’s wellness package for women 30 and above - $450

  1. Consult with O&G specialist.

  2. Pelvic ultrasound.

This test uses sound waves to check for abnormalities in the organs of the pelvis, such as fibroids or masses on the ovaries.

  3. HPV DNA test.

This test checks for signs of a virus known as HPV, which can cause cervical cancer. If you have this virus, then you may need to be monitored for precancerous changes of your cervix.

Heart and vascular screening

+

Cardiovascular panel - $170

Tests for Apo-lipoprotein A1 and B, Lipoprotein(a), Homocysteine. This panel of tests is used to determine your level of risk for heart disease and stroke. It checks your levels of cholesterol and fats in the blood, various proteins that carry cholesterol in the blood, markers of chronic inflammation, and levels of certain substances that can cause damage to blood vessels, all of which are associated with cardiovascular disease risk. In addition, it includes tests that check kidney and liver function.

Ultrasound Abdominal Aorta (AAA screening) - $200

This test checks for an aneurysm (or bulging) of the body’s largest artery in the abdomen, which can lead to life-threatening blood loss if it bursts. This is recommended for those at the highest risk for this condition - men ages 65 to 75 who have smoked.

Carotid intima media thickness - $280

This test uses sound waves to check the thickness of the inner two layers of the carotid artery. Thickening of these arteries indicates a higher risk for having a stroke and cardiovascular disease.

CT coronary calcium score - $350

This test checks for calcium deposits in the walls of the arteries in your heart. Calcium deposits in the walls of the arteries cause them to become stiff and indicate obstruction, which raises the risk of a major event like a heart attack.

CT Coronary angiogram with calcium score - $1220

This test looks for narrowing, blockages, and harmful calcium deposits in the blood vessels in your heart. It can detect signs of heart disease before you have symptoms, allowing for early intervention to reduce the risk of a heart attack.

ECG (electrocardiogram) - $30

Using sensors placed on the surface of the chest, the electrical activity of the heart is evaluated. This test can detect abnormal heart rhythms, which are an indicator of heart problems.

Treadmill cardiac stress test - $300

This test evaluates your heart’s ability to tolerate increased activity due to exercise and can help to detect ischaemic heart disease.

2D Echocardiogram - $400

This is an ultrasound of your heart, which uses sound waves to evaluate the structure and function of your heart.

Sexually transmitted infections screening

+

STI screening package - $210

Tests for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis C, Herpes Simplex Type 1, Herpes Simplex Type 2, and Syphilis. Includes a blood test and urine test. Many of these infections can cause no symptoms in infected people, so they may go undetected without screening.

HIV antibody test - $15

This test checks for an immune system reaction to HIV, which would indicate that you have been exposed to the virus. It generally takes between three weeks and three months after exposure to HIV to detect it on this test.

Hormones

+

Female hormones screening - $90

This tests the four main hormones of the female system (estradiol, progesterone, FSH, and LH). This can be used to detect hormone imbalances that can cause symptoms, and to track the transition to menopause.

Male hormones screening - $30

This tests the level of testosterone (total testosterone) in the blood. As men age, their level of testosterone tends to drop, which can lead to a variety of health issues.

Metabolic health

+

Insulin resistance screening - $70

This panel tests for fasting levels of glucose and insulin. This can detect type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, and is also used to predict cardiovascular disease risk in a person living with diabetes.

MRI Liver fat quantification - $350

People who are overweight commonly experience an accumulation of fat tissue in the liver, which can lead to problems with liver function. This test measures specifically how much fat tissue has accumulated in your liver, allowing you to track the fat percentage over time.

Body fat percentage via DEXA scan - $310

This test uses X-rays to measure fat tissue inside the body, providing a more accurate determination of body fat percentage than a typical scale can offer. This can help you to set weight loss and health goals for optimal health, and allows you to track your progress.

Cancer screening

+

Low dose CT scan of the lungs - $380

This scan checks for lung cancer. Those between the ages of 50 and 80 who have smoked one pack of cigarettes per day for at least 20 years, and who are still smoking or have quit less than 15 years ago are recommended to undergo this screening test.

GASTROClear - $220

This blood test is able to detect signs of stomach cancer early in its course, before it causes symptoms. It’s recommended for those aged 40 or older who have risk factors for stomach cancer (such as family history, dietary factors, smoking, or infection with H. pylori bacteria).

LucenceINSIGHT - $1988 + GST

This is a blood test that screens for the risk of various types of cancer. The test detects cancer-associated alterations circulating in blood. It is recommended for those aged 40 years and above or individuals with an elevated risk for cancer (e.g. strong family history of cancer). LucenceINSIGHT screens for 12 different types of cancer.

LucenceINSIGHT Plus - $3800 + GST

On top of LucenceINSIGHT tests, LucenceINSIGHT Plus screens for an additional 38 cancers, including two types of leukemia as well as a common age-related bone marrow phenomenon associated with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease and hematologic cancers.

Brain health

+

MRI of the brain without contrast - $980

This test involves no radiation, and can detect a variety of problems with the brain, including tumors, swelling, and blocked, narrowed, or bulging blood vessels (e.g. strokes).

Magnetic Resonance Angiogram (MRA) - $1360

This is a specific type of MRI designed to look at blood vessels, to check for aneurysms in the brain. This is strongly recommended for people who have experienced an aneurysm before, who have multiple close relatives with aneurysms, or who have certain types of genetic conditions.

Nutrition Panel

+

Iron Panel, Vitamin B12, and Folic Acid - $80

Deficiencies in Iron, Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid can cause anemia, or low levels of red blood cells and are common in individuals on vegetarian or vegan diets.

Magnesium and Zinc - $80

Magnesium and Zinc have a variety of functions in the body, including supporting healthy muscle and nerve function, as well as proper sleep. Deficiencies are relatively common, and symptoms are not always obvious.

Blood sugar monitoring

+
