Dr. Sue-Anne Toh is dedicated to empowering individuals through a collaborative approach to health.
Globally-Informed Medical Expertise, Research & Health System Contributions
With over two decades of clinical experience in internal medicine, diabetes, and metabolism, Dr. Toh brings globally-informed expertise to her patients at NOVI Health. She earned her medical degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, and completed her specialist training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. Her post-graduate training included serving at teaching hospitals such as Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge University) and Harvard University-affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital. She served as an Attending Physician Endocrinologist, and Instructor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania before returning to Singapore’s National University Hospital.

Shaping National Guidelines:
She was a member of the Ministry of Health's workgroup that developed Singapore’s official Clinical Practice Guidelines for Lipid Management, which influences national care for cholesterol management and cardiovascular risk reduction. She was also a member of the National Telehealth Implementation Workgroup and the Diabetes, Hypertension, Hyperlipidaemia (DHL), and Obesity Working Group under the Screening Test Review Committee.
Leading Research Initiatives:
As Principal Investigator for scientific studies like the APT-2D (Assessing Progression to Type 2 Diabetes) study, she focuses on understanding how diabetes develops, particularly in Asian populations. She was also the founding Director of the Singapore Population Health Improvement Centre. This research contributes to developing approaches to healthy longevity in communities.
International Advisory Role:
Her input is sought by international pharmaceutical and biotech firms, where she serves on advisory boards to help guide the development of health solutions.
